Can I create my own shape and design?

Yes!  Most island companies offer standard "cookie cutter" shapes and designs. Islands in the Sun will customize and build any shape or design, including many options in counter tops and appliances.  If you have ideas in mind for your space please send them to us. Either by E-mail – pete@islandsinthesunbbq.com or text 951-316-8793.

How will you move the island into my yard?

In most cases, 37 to 44 inches is required to get the Island into the backyard. A two to three man crew is the standard, with the help of special dollies and carts.  If clearance is an issue, which is rare, a crane will be required to hoist the island over a fence. The cost of this will vary, usually between 400 to 600 dollars. In this case we waive our delivery fee ($350-$450) and the customer pays the crane co. directly. We will make all the arrangements.

Why does one grill cost $2000.00 dollars more than another grill of a similar size?

The better grills are made of 304 stainless, thicker gauge steel, insulated fire box and cover, higher BTU output.  They also have thicker grates, polished edges, custom lighting and higher quality knobs.  A range of options and differences are available, which can be discussed at your initial in-home consultation.

Does your company install gas or electrical lines?

No, we do not. We are not contractors, but we'll recommend a qualified contractor to run utility lines for you.

Can my barbecue island be installed against a fence /wall?

Yes, it can. There is no set-back requirement, as your island will be built off-site and the completed product will be delivered to your location.

Does the counter top of my island need to be sealed?

Yes. While the island counter top is not sealed at the factory prior to delivery, it is recommended that you seal the Island with a stone and grout sealer at least twice a year to protect it from the elements.

Will my island be leveled when it arrives?

Our islands are normally placed on concrete, brick or paver foundations. Your foundation will have a mild slope or fall to help shed water. Every space is different, and under certain circumstances, the grade of the foundation needs to be adjusted. We will assist in the evaluation of any such issues upon our initial in-home consultation.

What is the price of an outdoor kitchen or a barbecue island?

The greatest factors in the cost of an island are dimensions, counter top materials and the grill you select. Your price point will, of course, be dependent upon the selections you make. You can have an island installed for as little as $3,500, the average is around $5,000 to $8,000, and dependent on your choices, the sky is the limit.  An outdoor kitchen tends to include more extensive options and features.
